Here is a little peek of the photos I shot with Lauren and Hannah at Grand Vue Park during our "Mom + Me" session. I thought it would be a nice idea to incorporate audio so Lauren can always hear her little Hannah's voice when she looks at these photos years down the road. Hannah is so sweet and smart and LOVES Lauren so much. Her little voice is the sweetest. Thank you for letting me capture your love for each other in this little Mother's Day tribute. Click below to hear Hannah's sweet voice. Happy Mother's Day beautiful Lauren!
xoxo, Kristin **A special THANK YOU to Kate Santonas who helped me all throughout the day with EVERYTHING including asking the little ones questions about their mamas. You are a bright light in this world and I'm so thankful for your help and friendship.**

Abbey and Shane got married! In the middle of the woods in the middle of a pandemic. I really have no idea how we're all coping with this craziness, but I do know photographing their wedding made me feel like myself again. Staying at least 6 feet away, not touching anything anyone else touched, and setting up a ring shot with gloves on are all things I never thought I would be doing as a wedding photographer... BUT it was perfect. Abbey's words: "Shane and I have been patiently waiting to plan our wedding until we figured things out with my back. Surgery was finally scheduled April 2 but with covid19, it has been postponed until further notice. We decided we just didn’t want to wait any longer to be man and wife! We eloped! We felt during these uncertain times being legally married now is what is best for us. We plan to be married in the Church and celebrate with family and friends next summer! Feeling beyond blessed and completely enjoying being newlyweds! #ForAsLongAsILivingston" Personally, this was one of my favorite weddings I have ever shot. Two absolutely incredible people, in the woods, getting married because they just can't wait to be husband and wife is what it's all about. I will never forget all the fun we had a little over a week ago on their big day, the way I was trying not to touch my face to wipe my tears during their sweet ceremony, and when Abbey said she will never forget the way the sun looked on Shane's face as they said "I Do" to each other. Here are a few of my favorites... Getting everything ready for the little hike into the woods.. XOXO,
Kristin Putting images to song lyrics has been on my list of personal photo projects for at least two years. I shot these photos in 2019 in hopes of completing the first of this series. The first time I heard this song I immediately fell in love with the lyrics. The theme is the fleetingness of love and life-- Give it a listen while you scroll through the images... "It's not the long flowing dress that you're in," "Or the light coming off of your skin." "The fragile heart you protected for so long," "Or the mercy in your sense of right and wrong." "It's not your hands searching slow in the dark," "Or your nails leaving love's watermark." "It's not the way you talk me off the roof, Your questions like directions to the truth." "It's knowing that this can't go on forever," "Likely, one of us will have to spend some days alone." "Maybe we'll get forty years together," "But one day I'll be gone, Or one day you'll be gone." "If we were vampires and death was a joke, We'd go out on the sidewalk and smoke," "And laugh at all the lovers and their plans," "I wouldn't feel the need to hold your hand." "Maybe time running out is a gift, I'll work hard til the end of my shift," "And give you every second I can find, And hope it isn't me who's left behind." **Thank you to Natalie and Guy Rayl for forever being my models and going along with my crazy ideas...and for taking mouthfuls of whiskey during this shoot. xoxo, Kristin How lucky I am to get to photograph love for a living. In honor of Valentine's Day, here are some of my lovebirds from 2019... XOXO,
Kristin It finally snowed this winter! When I woke up in the morning and the ground was covered with snow, I was drinking coffee casually scrolling through Facebook, when I saw that my fellow photographer friend, Megan, asked if anyone wanted to shoot in the snow. I thought " hell yess!" and messaged her. She wanted to shoot maternity photos so I called my GORGEOUS friend Alli because she is always in for some fun. It was SO COLD AND WINDY and it snowed the entire time we shot- but it was definitely worth it. Here are a few of my favorites... Thank you, Alli, for all the laughs, braving the weather, and being such a great model!
Ava and I shot her Senior Portrait Session on a 90+ degree evening at Grand Vue Park. I delivered 184 edited images from our almost 2 hour shoot because my camera just loved her. I really enjoyed getting to know her and her mom (and her dog) as we walked around and shot these images. I am really excited to see this bright young lady achieve all of her goals. Ava has her life all planned-the end result being a very specific type of doctor. She is kind, fun, smart, and beautiful and I hope she has the very best senior year. Ava, Class of 2020. Ava & Mary,
Thank you so much for hiring me and giving me the honor of shooting your senior year portraits. -Kristin What started out as a small little anniversary shoot- sparked a fire in me. Why don't couples get more photos together? I don't care if you've been married for 20 years, if you got married last year, or if you're dating. Thank you to Casey & Michael for choosing me to capture some memories.
Corey and Cassandra are one of those couples that give off so much positive energy. When photographing others, or getting your photograph taken, there is an absolute "Vibe" that happens. It is always, always, different. What amazing energy these two have. Photographing a couple like them in a place like this (Williams Golf and Country Club, Weirton WV) is what makes my heart happy and breathes a new breath of fresh air into me. We truly had SO MUCH FUN. Thanks to the extraordinary Megan who plans and executes weddings at Williams, it was seamless and full of laughter. I drove a golf cart, y'all. A golf cart full of Margarita-drinking newlyweds, and it was the best time. Cassandra and Corey got married on a hill at Williams overlooking the Ohio river. We stopped off and took photos along the golf course, at the gorgeous overlook, and at the ceremony site. The band Hit Play played at their beautiful reception. They gave their guests maracas. I made new friends. Everyone smiled. And danced. Here are a few of my favorite photos from their day. I'll save the fun dancing photos for the newlyweds to share! Thank you Cory + Cassandra for being you. I hope every time you look at your photos you are reminded of your beautiful, emotional, & fun-filledwedding day. Hair & Makeup: Salon 2212 | Wheeling WV Flowers: Aunties Wedding Whimsies Dresses: JJones Evening Wear | Wheeling +Weirton, WV Two of my favorite people are expecting a little girl. All of our friends are so excited to meet little miss Layla. Lacy and Robert are extremely fun people, so when we were chatting about their maternity session, I knew they would come up with some awesome ideas. We shot these photos on their lane, no fuss, just them being themselves. I think we can all agree that Lacy looks so beautiful pregnant and Robert's beard is on point. We photographed some formal portraits, candids, fun photos, and lifestyle images. It was easy-going & comfortable and lasted about an hour. These two are going to be the best parents and little Layla is already so loved. Here are a few of my favorites... Xoxo,
Kristin I love creative people. Well, I love all people. BUT I consider creative people to be my people. I had the supreme pleasure of meeting and photographing one of my people at the Penitentiary in Moundsville, WV. I know what you're thinking: Senior photos in a Penitentiary?! I thought it was definitely out of the box as well. What's wrong with being out of the box? Most of the time, that's where the magic happens I think senior photos should absolutely reflect the person and their personality // through attire, location, and shooting style. The viewer should take one look at your photos and think... "that's them, that is a visual of exactly who they are." I think we nailed that with Josie's images. She is artsy. She likes darkness and creepy things. She is an artist. Her passion is special effects makeup. She showed me images of her work- It's stunning. We kept this shoot organic and only used natural light...in a very dark place // it challenged me in the best way. Josie, you are beautiful // and funny // and artistic // and talented // and you are going to do crazy amazing things with your life. Thank you for driving 3 hours and hiring me to shoot your unique idea. It was so nice meeting you. Here are a few of my favorites... Thank you to Josie's father, her grandmother, & Tom and the Moundsville Penitentiary staff for helping this special young lady's idea come to life.
